Engagements and wedding ceremonies are part of our lives. As a man and woman, it is the will of God for us to get married and also have kids. But a lot of people get confused. They do not know if it is right or wrong for a man and woman to get baptized before they get engaged.
Why will marriage hinder baptism in the first place? Marriage must never hinder baptism. Baptism is highly recommended to anyone who has fully understood the teachings of the Lord, Jesus and can also be referred to as, a believer.
In my little knowledge, it is even better to get baptized before getting married. That’s because when we get married, we must be expecting kids and with the will and grace of the Lord, the kids will come quick.
Then, if we are not baptized and qualified to be Christians, how do you both train the kids? What kind of parents will the kids be looking up to and what kind of parent do you even wish to be?
Even before having kids, baptism before marriage will teach you how to live with your spouse. The things to do and how to respect your spouse.
Christianity not only teaches us how to praise and worship God but how to take care of our home, how to take care of our spouse and how to act according to the will of God in our marriage.
So, it is essential, important and good to get baptized before marriage. Since baptism means that you are a qualified Christian, it means that by the grace of God, you can take good care of your marriage and home.
