Hello brethren in Christ, may the peace of God be with you all. I am sharing to you the lessons I learnt from today's Mass Indoctrination service.
The reason for the gathering of the Brethren. Hebrews 10:24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
There is a commandment in the church that the Brethren should observe one another. The main reason for gathering is to see, hear and identify one another. You have to be concerned and have a sense of care for the Brethren. So, In the church, observe. Be observant, means to watch. A Christian should have maintenance and our maintenance is brotherly love and exhorting one another. In other churches, their reason for gathering is collecting of money. In the church we should have respect for everyone. We don't have to discriminate. James 2:1 My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons.
Things to do during gathering Studying the word of God is the biggest part of gathering. Acts 20:7 And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.
Singing praises to God during gathering is one of the best things to do. 1corinthians 14: 26 How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying. Singing is very important because, God, Christ and Angels sing. Singing during gathering can cause Deliverance. When we sing at gathering evil spirits go away.
Revelations from the minister is also important during gathering.
Speaking of different languages is also acceptable during gatherings. People from different places with different languages meet so it is allowed to use different languages during gathering.
Interpretation of various languages is also allowed.
When should we gather. The early Christians gather during the first day of the week. Acts 20:7 And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight. Collection is done on the first day of the week. 1 Corinthians 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.
In our time we have gathering regularly depending on your location. Acts 2:46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,
Benefits that we can get from gathering are, forgiveness and healing. God forgives our sins and we receive healing in our life. 2 chronicle 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
