To obey simply means to do as instructed or commanded by someone.
Now the Bible has a definitive instruction or guide for children when it comes to rendering obedience to their parents.
In the book of Ephesians 6:1-3, we saw God's take on this matter. God as a matter of fact, instruct or command Children to obey parents that are in the Lord.
Ephesians 6:1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. 6:2 Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise; 6:3 That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.
Those parents that are walking in the ways of the lord are to be obeyed by Children ie Children are bound by duty to obey them. God saying this because He knows such parents would not lead their children astray or expose them to lifestyle that would not give glory to God.
Parents that are not living their lives in the way of the Lord would definitely influenced their children negatively and as such , children shouldn't follow the ways of such parents.
