Many people often ask whether evil spirits are capable of physically touching or influencing human beings. According to the teachings found in the Bible, those who are truly born of God are protected from the power of the wicked one.
In 1 John 5:18, the scripture teaches that whoever is born of God does not continue living in sin. The one who is born of God keeps himself, and the wicked one cannot touch him. This verse reminds us that a person who genuinely belongs to God lives with caution and discipline. Such a person carefully watches his actions, behavior, emotions, and relationships with others. Because of this spiritual awareness and faithfulness, the devil cannot easily gain control over his life.
Being protected by God does not mean that a believer becomes careless or irresponsible. Instead, it means remaining alert and avoiding actions that could separate one from God. A true believer continually strives to live righteously and maintain a strong and faithful relationship with the Lord.
On the other hand, those who reject God or choose not to follow His teachings may expose themselves to spiritual dangers. In certain situations, evil spirits may trouble or influence individuals. This is what many people describe as spiritual oppression or possession.
For this reason, it is important for everyone to believe in God and live according to His will. Serving the Lord faithfully and staying committed to His teachings helps protect a person from the influence of evil spirits and the devil.
Therefore, strengthening one’s faith, living a righteous life, and being mindful of one’s actions are important ways believers can guard themselves spiritually and remain under God’s protection.
