Do We All Believe In One God?
Many people believe in different gods, but the Bible teaches that there is only one true and supreme God. Although many gods and goddesses are being worshipped around the world, this shows that humanity often serves not just the true God, but also false ones.
Bro. Eli explained that people have created many gods, represented by statues and idols, and they call them by different names. These gods are worshipped by their followers in various forms, but they are not the same as the one true God of the Bible.
He also pointed out that religious practices differ greatly among people. Some religions forbid their members from eating certain foods, while others allow everything. This difference, he said, is a clear sign that we are not all worshipping the same God.
Bro. Eli mentioned that there are religions with countless deities. For example, Hinduism recognizes over a thousand gods and goddesses, while the Egyptians, as mentioned in the Bible, also had about twelve main gods. These examples prove that not everyone serves the same divine being.
He went further to explain that many people worship false gods simply because they do not know the true one. This truth is supported by Galatians 4:8, which says:
"When you did not know God, you served those which by nature are not gods."
This scripture helped me realize that the reason why there are so many gods and goddesses today is because of human ignorance of the one true and living God revealed in the Bible.
