Greetings everyone, I welcome you all to my blog.
It's another great day to listen to the word of God by his servant Bro Eli Soriano
The instruction against eating pork was given specifically by God to Moses for the children of Israel not for every human being on earth.
In Leviticus 11:2:8, God told Moses to speak to the Israelites about which animals they were permitted to eat. He explained that only animals that both chew the cud and have split hooves are acceptable for them. Any animal that meets only one of these conditions is considered unclean for the Israelites.
For example:
The camel chews the cud but does not have a divided hoof therefore it is unclean to them.
The coney and the hare also chew the cud but do not divide the hoof making them unclean.
The pig has a split hoof but does not chew the cud so it is unclean to the Israelites.
God commanded them not to eat these animals or even touch their carcasses.
This directive was given exclusively to the nation of Israel. It was not a universal command for all people of the world. Therefore, others may eat pork, but the Israelites were forbidden from doing so according to the instructions given through Moses and Aaron.
In Genesis 9:3:4, God told Noah that every moving creature would be food for him, just like the green herbs. However, He gave an important restriction: they must not eat meat that still contains its lifeblood.
This shows another commandment not about avoiding pork specifically, but about avoiding the consumption of blood.
In conclusion, the prohibition against eating pork applied to the Israelites under God’s law through Moses. As explained by Bro. Eli, this restriction was not given to all nations. Others are free to eat pork, but Israelites were commanded not to.
