The Giants In The Bible and Gigantism. MCGI TOPIC REVIEW

in MCGI Cares Hivelast month

Many times we have interpreted the stories in the Bible without taking cognizance of real life instances. This type of interpretation of biblical accounts has only given us an unbalanced foundation in our faith. The word of God is the truth. It is the Truth in every ramification. So, trying to understand what we have heard from the Bible using the truthful representation from real life events will help us to truly know what this truth is.

Bro Eli Soriano explanation of who the giant mentioned in Genesis 6:4 gives a true light about understanding the account. When I listened to this video, I came to understand that the giants referred to in this biblical account are different from our understanding of gigantism.

Genesis 6:1-4 (KJV) And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,
That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.
And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.
There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

In our understanding, we assumed that these giants were humans with extra growth features. We thought they were very big and tall in size. What an illusion!

These men wouldn't have been extra huge humans. If so, they would have been diseased persons because gigantism is a diseased condition. People with gigantism are weak and sick. They could not have been the mighty and strong humans which the Bible is talking about.

The giants in the Bible are extra humans. They were not just ordinary humans. They were very strong and mighty. So, these were not people who were suffering from gigantism.

If I didn't hear from here that giants are weak and diseased in nature, I would have still assume that those giants in the Bible actually had gigantism.
