Ome thing is to listen to the word of God preached by God's servant and another thing is to study the word of God. By studying the word of God you are observing all that is written in the bible and putting them into practice or action. Studying the word of God is a continous effort, one do nor give up when it comes to studying the word of God.
In the book of John 8 vs 31 where Jesus emphasied that those who are called his disciplines are those who continue in His word. Remember disciplines are known to be followers of Christ like wise Christians are also known to be followers of christ too.
By studying the word of God you grow in faith that is your faith becomes strong that you are effected by situation or challenges of life or around you.
As one you is converted, it is your duty to follows the doctrines of that religion (christianity), to equip yourself more and grow more in what the word of God is saying.
In conclusion, God has played His part to make His word available to us at all time through the use of the bible, we have our own part to study and act on the word of God to manifest our testimonies.
We need to study the word of without ceasing
