Speaking in tongue can just be understood by a layman, is a language understood by the spirit, full of mysteries(strange) and is not a language that is attributed to a mother language.
This Speaking on tongue comes as a result of when one has given his/her life to Jesus Christ the evidence of the Holy spirit dwelling on that person is a sign of Speaking on tongues.
Speaking is not about echoing sounds, is about communicating with the Holy spirit on a subject matter that in the book of Act 2 vs 7-8 with the help of the Holy the Apostles spoke on tongues that people from diverse nations understood their native languages.
Every believer is qualified for this, it helps on spreading the word of God. When you pray and there is no answer it I'd adviceable that you speak in tongues when you speak in to tongues that answers comes quickly.
Often times,some religion practice this without proper understanding of how it works and also they forget that it does not have a translation of only understood by the Holy spirit.
