Lessons I learnt from the mass indoctrination day 9. Brother Eli emphasized so much on the gathering of the brethren.
2 Chronicles 7:14. If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
There is healing, forgiveness and a lot of blessings from God when we gather together in his name. So we should not take it likely.
Hebrews 2:11-12 For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,
Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee.
The early Christians gathered regularly, their gathering was a time of prayer and singing Psalms to God. They were not limited. They could gather at anytime and fellowship with each other and with the father.
whenever we gather together as brethren, we should allow the spirit of God take the lead. We should let our gathering be a time to give quality praise to God.
Hebrews 13:15 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.
The gathering of the brethren can be anytime or anywhere. We are not limited to a particular day. But whenever we gather in Jesus name, we know that he is there in our midst.
The Bible also says we should not forsake the gathering of the brethren. This is also a doctrine of Christ.
