THE IMPORTANT POINTS IN THE LESSON
Greetings great people of MCGI Care Community! Today is the day that the Lord has made we will rejoice and be glad in it.
Today's being the day 11 of our mass indoctrination program we were taught so many things about some of the things we supposed to do as members of the Church of God that are not a direct commandment from God. Below are some of the lessons I learnt from the teaching.
Proverbs 26:11
We learnt from this scripture that they are people who are doing what is wrong again and again.
They derive Joy from returning to their vomit like dogs return to it vomit.
1 Corinthians 10:21
We learnt from this scripture that there two kinds of table, one is the table of the Lord the other is the table of the devil. We are encouraged not to partake of the table of the devil.
We were taught that the table of the Lord stands for the Church of God where the members are fed Spiritually. The table talk about the Church of God where Christ feeds His people.
There are things God expects us to do voluntarily without receiving any commandment from God. It is good for us to do things willingly for God because there is a great reward in willingness.
Numbers 30:2
From this scripture we learnt that vow is one of the voluntary actions Believers take without being commanded by God. It is good to make a vow to God. We learnt from this scripture that if a man makes a vow unto the Lord or swear an oath he shall not break his word he shall do everything that comes out of his mouth.
1 Corinthians 9:5
Paul in this Scripture shows us that it is not wrong for God's ministers to marry. Some of the early Apostles married people like Peter and the Brothers of the Lord got married. If one is making a vow to the Lord it would be good if the vow is a voluntary vow. If one is compelled to make a vow then it is not a good one because it's not coming from his heart.
People that have the fear of God does not break the vow they make to the Lord.
Ecclesiastes 5:4-5
Here we learnt that God doesn't take pleasure in fools. It is better not to make a vow to the Lord than to make a vow without fulfilling it. God is not happy with people that makes vow that they can't fulfill.
It is very clear in the Bible that a member of the Church of God can make a vow to God even without being commanded. A vow is something wonderful. We were encouraged to make a vow to God when we want to ask Him for a favour.
God doesn't command us to vow, but it is necessary for us to bind ourselves with a vow or an oath to the Lord.
Acts 18:18
Here we learnt that the Apostles of old made vows to the Lord. Paul for instance made a vow to the that made him to shave his head. This proves that in the Church we can make a vow to bind ourselves that we may not sin against God.
2 Corinthians 9:7
We equally learnt that giving is another voluntary action that members of the Church of God need to do without being commanded. We not compel to give and it is not good for ministers to compel people to give against their will, but every man should give from his heart as he wills.
God doesn't force us to give because He wants us to give cheerfully.
They are things that are not commanded by God to the Church, but these things are necessary to be done.
Giving is very important in the Church of God because the gospel needs money to propagate, but that is not a good reason people should be forced to give against their will.
It is very good to give according to our ability not grudgingly, but willingly. It is not good to force anybody and make them to give what their heart is not leading them to give
1 Corinthians 16:1-2
According to the Bible the word of God says that we should give contribution in the Church of God. The reason for the contribution is because of the many responsibilities in Church of God. The contribution from the members of the Church of God are used to propagate the gospel. Even the Bible teaches us to give it doesn't teach us to force people to give.
MY EXPECTATIONS THAT WAS IMPROVED
I learnt that they are things that are not commanded by God in the Bible that every member of the Church of God should do.
I learnt that it is not good to compel people to give. That every one is expected to give as he wills.
I learnt that it is good to make a vow to the Lord, but while making the vow I should be willingly to fulfill them because God won't be happy if I make a vow I can't fulfill.
We are inviting you to join the MCGI Cares (Hive) community that study the words of God and also earn some reward by making our reactions on it. We can check this link https://peakd.com/c/hive-182074/trending
Thanks be to God for listening on our meeting.
MCGI Cares (Hive) community's main mission is to share the words of God, not the Hive upvotes. If we get upvotes, please treat it as just a bonus. Do not focus mainly on material things as the bible is teaching us not to look at things seen but rather focus our eyes on things not seen.
II CORINTHIANS 4:18
While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
