Does God listens to idol worshippers?|The Old Path
Scriptures: 2 Corinthians 6:14-19, Habakkuk 2:18-19, Psalms 115:4&8
As humans we all have different beliefs as to regarding our religious perspective. One common practice being observed in religions is prayer. People pray to whatever deity they put their belief in. In the case of idol worshippers, when they pray they pray to their idols and not to God because God is not an idol. God only responds to those who make prayers to him.
He listens to His own only. That's why God likened us unto sheep while He as our Shepherd. As we know, a Shepherd only looks after the sheep that are under his protection.
Psalms 115:4
Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men's hands.
This passage tells us of how people cherish and idolize the works of men's hands above God. Going through the scriptures we see how God so much distastes idol worship. We know God to be a jealous God. This means that any form of worship that is not accorded to him incurs His anger just like what happened to the Israelites whenever they derailed from God's ways.
Habakkuk 2:19
Woe unto him that saith to the wood, Awake; to the dumb stone, Arise, it shall teach! Behold, it is laid over with gold and silver, and there is no breath at all in the midst of it.
There's only one living God. He is the one who made the heavens and the earth. He wasn't created, rather we are products of His creation. But idols were made by men. God has no business with idol worshippers.
