A christian must always be knowledgeable of the future. The Bible is not only a doctrinal book but a book of prophecy.
John 14:29
And now, I have told you before it comes to pass, that, when it is come to pass, you might believe.
Prophetic pronouncements are made by the Lord so that we may believe when it is fulfilled. Christians are being told of future happenings or events before it even happens. Therefore, it will make us knowledgeable of what is going to happen in the future. We do not just live day by day and expect anything to happen or anything to come.
Proverbs 16:9
A man's heart deviceeth his way, but the Lord directed his steps.
It is the heart of a man that plans his ways, but it is the Lord that directs his way. Therefore, we have the power to device, to plan, and to think of what we are going to be in the future, while the Lord God will direct our ways. A Christian is certain of his future. He knows what is going to happen.
Ephesians 2:10
For we are His workmanship created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God had before ordained that we should walk in them.
God has ordained the good works that we have to do while we are here on earth. Therefore, we must be certain of our future. We must be certain of our work, and we must be certain that we are doing God's good while we are living on earth.
