Life is a mystery that is greatest. People wake up, go to work, study, build families, and pursue dreams everyday, and yet there is a voice deep inside each of them, that is telling why am I here? This is a question which, What is the end of our being, has been troubling the hearts of men thousands of years. In the process of MCGI topic review, I was informed that we do not exist by accident. God created us on a godly purpose to serve Him, to love people, and to lead our lives that will be used to glorify His name.
When I reflect upon life, I recall Genesis 1: 27, which is, So God made man in His own likeness, in the likeness of God made Him; male and female made Him them. This verse demonstrates that we have not begun our lives out of the thin air. We are the product of the design of God. He created us in His image; this is to say that we were created to emulate His personality love, holiness, truth, and goodness. It is to become more like the One who created us that life is not about selfish enjoyment or earthly achievement.
Another topic that taught me in MCGI is that our purpose starts by knowing God. Most of the people just live and die without having the slightest idea who the One is that brought them into life. Jesus said, In John 17: 3, it is said: This is life eternal, that they may know Thee, the one true God, and Jesus Christ, whom Thou hast sent. Having knowledge about God is what makes our existence meaningful. In the absence of Him, we will have nothing to live in, regardless of our success. I have also understood that the real happiness of life lies in establishing a relationship with our Creator.
The other valuable thing that I learned is that we were made to serve. In Ecclesiastes 12:13 the Bible writes, “And we shall hear the end of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: this is the whole work of man. This verse is the nutshell of the whole purpose of life. We exist to serve and obey God. All our gifts, all our powers, all our breaths must be in His glory. In a case of example, when I am able to talk, I should speak using my words to motivate other people. I am able to write, and in this case, my writing ought to preach truth. Our gifts and lives do not go to waste because service to God is what makes it all worthwhile.
Another issue that resonated with me relates to the fact that love is core to our being, which was also explained. Jesus said, in Matthew 22:3739, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself... thou shalt love thy neighbor with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. Love does not only feel but it is the purpose of our existence. We were created to love, to love God first, and to express that love to other people. Even our best works are a meaningless story without love. The less I think about it, the more I realize that it is when we live in love and kindness towards other people, that life becomes beautiful.
I also got to know that we are temporary on earth. We have come to be ready to live forever. James 4:14, says, what is your life? It is even a vapor that comes a short time, and dissipates away. This brings to mind how pursuing worldly things will never provide contentment. Our actual reason to live a short life is because we must accomplish the will of God in order to be with Him eternally. This consideration causes me to desire to live each day wisely not spending time on sin or worldly pleasures but spending my life on things that are important forever.
It was one of the most beautiful aspects of the MCGI discourse to understand that all the human beings are significant in the plan of God. No one is useless. Each and every person, be it a rich or a poor, a learned or an unlearned, was created by a divine purpose. In Ephesians 2:10, it is stated that, we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. This demonstrates that we are no accidents. God had a plan of how we were going to live long before we were born. Although it might be so hectic in life, we can be certain that God does not leave anything without a reason.
It is also through this topic that I realized that when we fulfill our purpose, peace is achieved. I get lost and confused when I am not living according to the plan of God. However, when I am living on His Word, I am very happy and oriented. Palm 16:11 states that, Thou wilt show me the way of life: in Thy presence is fullness of joy: in Thy right hand are pleasures without end. A person can never be truly happy with fame and wealth but with walking with God every day.
Conclusively, the meaning of our existence is not concealed. We were created by God, for God. We are supposed to reflect His image, to know Him, to serve Him and to love Him and others. All other things are temporal but the life lived in God is eternal. The MCGI subject has helped open my eyes to realize that life is a God-given task - an opportunity to make the glory of the One who breathed life into us. Now, I cannot consider my life as being normal. I understand it as a gorgeous chance to live according to the plan of God and to prepare eternity with Him.
The purpose of man existence is to share the word of God and to interact with one another with a good approach that is full with the Christlike.
