MCGI Topic Review | Why Is There So Much Evil.

Today, many look around the world and fail to understand why there is so much evil? This is the same question I have posed myself several times when I witness war, violence, corruption, sickness, and hatred everywhere around me.

Evil appears to be increasing each and every day, the news to our own communities. However, as I peel the root deeper, more so, with the help of the Bible, I start to realize that evil is not new. It is as old as time itself and it has an obvious origin and an obvious way of explanation.

According to the Bible, sin introduced evil in the world. In Genesis 3, having disobeyed God, Adam and Eve led to the sin into the world, and with the sin suffering, pain, and evil. According to the bible, through one man sin entered into the world and through sin death (Romans 5:12).

That makes me see that all the trouble that we are seeing today began when mankind rejected the will of God that is perfect. When man disobeyed God, he began to open the door to darkness since God created the world to be good and peaceful.

Satan is also another cause of so much evil. He is the adversary of man as defined by the bible. In John 10:10 it reads, the thief does not come but to steal, to kill and destroy. The purpose of Satan is to introduce destruction, confusion and evil into the world.

I am now aware that a battle encompassing evil is taking place spiritually. Individuals might believe that they are using their own will yet sometimes they are being manipulated by sin wishes and devil spirits.

Evil is also a big cause of human wickedness. According to the bible, the heart is more deceitful than all other things, and desperately wicked (Jeremiah 17:9). When individuals focus on their selfish desires, they destroy other people, lie, cheat, murder and oppress weaker individuals. I also discovered that most issues that are experienced in society today are associated with greed, pride, hatred, and not loving each other.

Nevertheless, there is hope in the Bible as well. Although there is much evil, there is no one that God has left us alone; According to 1 John 4: 4, greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. This makes me confident that the mightiness of God is even greater than the evil power.

Evil can be loud and visible, however, God is always stronger, and good. The answer is to go back to God, to revere his Word and walk in love, since the light will always stay over the darkness.
