I listened to Bro Eli's take on this particular topic where he stressed on Mark 16:15 as not being part of the earliest manuscript of bible. I picked my Bible to find this out too and I discovered according to the NIV's version, it was reported that the earliest manuscripts ended with verse 8 which means it didn't contain verses 9-20.
Looking at this verse ...St. Mark 16:15 He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.(NIV version)
Though we know it isn't logical for us to preach to animals and even other inanimate objects which are part of God's creation. But the fact remains that the heartbeat of God is after the souls of men.
The great commission is to every Christian and it is not only restricted to travelling into a very far place as we know not everyone has the opportunity to do that, we thank God for the missionaries but God has given each one of us a platform to share his good news wherever we may be.
Our profession, vocation, gifts and talents are what God uses often to draw people to himself. Even in our present locality, we can still be the light of Christ.
Though God isn't going to whip anyone for not talking to everyone about him, but he's trying to get our hearts burdened for the perishing world when no one seems to take action and stand in gap for them by bringing them the good news of God's love and salvation. God himself knows the impacts this action can have on our own hearts and more so there's a great joy in heaven over one sinner who returns to God.
