Hello brethren. Summary of what I learnt from the teachings of Brother Eli.
I learnt on the content of prayer that we should ask only what we need from God avoiding vain repetitions.
Philippians 4:6
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
I also learnt that when we pray we should trust that it will be granted by God.
Mark 11;24
Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
I also learnt that when we pray, we should not pray with bitterness, grudges, hatred or wickedness towards God or men. Because if we do our prayers wouldn't be heard by God. We should always pray with a pure heart.
Jeremiah 17;9-10
9:The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
10:I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.
And I also learnt that we should pray without season. We should pray in difficulty and in comfort.
Luke 18;1
And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;
For God to hear us when we pray we need to obey Him first. Purification is in obedience to God.
Psalm 119;11
Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
1 Peter 1;22
Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently.
