Summary of what I learnt from the teachings of Brother Eli on our Mass indoctrination day 2
I learnt that the Bible talks about only one church. And that is the Church of God.
And as Christians we are expected to join the church of God not forming our own church that bears the name of a man or any other thing. Because the true church in the time of the apostles was called the church of God.
They was already a church formed and established in the Bible even before we were born. So we are expected to join that church not form a new church.
Becoming a member of the true church of God is not just by accepting Christ with your mouth but it is by hearing the gospel and accepting it
Agree we accept the gospel and the righteousness of God, God will also accept us too
So joining the church and fellowshipping with one another is a commandment of God in the Bible.
The church is the body of Christ. It where those that are called by God, gather to listen to the word of God. So the proper name of the body built by God, in accordance with the Bible is the church of God.
Everything that God owns is called by his name. Just like the church. The church belongs to God That is why it is called the church of God.
Isaiah 43:7 This scripture confirms that Everything created by God is called by his name. Because God created and formed us for his glory
The Bible recorded that the apostles were opportune to see and hear Jesus Christ one on one. they experienced the things Jesus Christ himself did. They were witness of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Christains in the Bible were formed from various reigion because most of them were idol worshippers before they accepted the gospel and was called out by God to become members of the church of God.
John 11:52 This scripture is talking about the gathering of the children of God because they were scattered in different places
Ephesians 4:4 This scripture is telling us that, there is only one body, which is the body of Christ; the church, and also there is only one spirit.
God himself called Paul to become an apostle in the church of God. Paul was practicing judaism before he was called by God.
Galatians 1:13 In this scripture Paul was talking about how he used to persecute the church and waste it when he was still in the he was still in the jewish religion; judaism.
True Christians which are members of the church of God are not contentious. True Christains are not likely to cause an argument or been controversial according to the bible.
1 Corinthians 1:16
This portion of the Bible is telling us that. The church of God and it's People are not contentious.
