Depression and anxiety — how to overcome these biblically (Part 3 of 3) | The Old Path

Job 2:9, Job1:21, 1 Peter 5:7

As much as prayer is a very important aspect of the Christian race, it is not enough without actions. Every prayer made to God has a required action that should accompany it. It is not wise to make a prayer and remain stagnant. What calls God attention to us is our prayers, but what makes Him move is our actions.

Faith without works is dead. Our prayer is just one part of faith. The second part is in our works; our actions. God is not in support of idleness or laziness. God is much interested in the actions we make and the steps we take. He wants His people to get themselves working.

Matthew 7:7 - Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you

How can we achieve what we are looking for if we don't seek it in the first place? Only when we seek shall we find. No one will do the job of seeking for us, we are to do it by ourselves. When someone is seriously in need of a Job, he doesn't sit in his house and crosses his waiting for the job to come. He won't get it that way.

He has to step out of his house and seek for the job. His seeking for the job get him closer to the possibility of getting the job. Our actions after prayers brings us closer to the answers we are looking for from God.
