Bible references: Numbers 30:2, 1
One of the things that God picks interest in is willingness. In everything we do–be it to God or to man–it should be from a willing heart. God may not necessarily compel us to do certain things. Most times we are meant to use to use our discretion. God trusts us to know that which is good and to stand by it.
If for everytime we do good we wait for instructions from God, then we may end up not doing good most of the time. We should not fail to do good willingly. There a reward for good acts carried out with all willingness. We see this in the scripture below:
Isaiah 1:19 - If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land.
God will never force us out of our will. It is completely up to us walk in goodness. If we decide within ourselves to walk in the pathway of the Lord, God is aware of it and expects us to stand by our word. He wouldn't be the one to make the decision for us, we are to make the decision. But we should be careful when doing so as not to deviate from it.
Numbers 30:2 - If a man vow a vow unto the LORD, or swear an oath to bind his soul with a bond; he shall not break his word, he shall do according to all that proceedeth out of his mouth.
We are held accountable for every vow that we make unto God. That is why we should not be hasty when making vows, and that is why God will never impose it on us but allow us to do it willingly. We need to be cautious about the implications in making vows, most especially to God.
