Blockchain Gaming is not quite a lot of fun yet. Mostly pay to win. So sad, if you consider all of the great opportunities…
Like giving power about development to the community, not to almighty publishers!
Or giving players true ownership over their ingame items!
To allow free trade of items instead of forcing people to trade their items on ebay and even ban them for doing so!
Also, why dont use blockchain to reward winning players automatically instead of automatically let players win with money?

Our designer (Vivi / Soulfoxii) dropped some first world artworks!
Also we are working hard on how to get that ship funded!

And we had our first thoughts about how we want to create our own website.
Not to mention all that legal trouble about founding a company… Who had this idea again?

Since, we the Captains, yes that’s definitely us writing, are dreaming about building our own game for a long time now we hereby decide to just do that!
And we will have our own Company for that! And we are going to call it Lambo Gaming! No, Waypointers makes much more sense! Or Robotivation?? Eternity Games? Limitless Games?!!
[just a few brainstorming sessions later…]
Calystral it is! So let’s find an appropriate logo now. Nothing easier than that…

Somewhen , 2019
Tons of conceptual papers were written, estimated, and have been burned… (Digitally! Save the environment!)
Many ideas have been forged into gameplay mechanisms, tested on handcrafted cards, and been burned… (Physically! Nobody is perfect :D)
But FINALLY all the sweat and fantasy spent, seems to grow some yummy fruits! We kind of finished the basic gameplay concept and decided on an illustration style!
It’s gonna be [Insert Captain’s answer]=> a Deckbuilding Trading Card Game. The world of Serra should be something completely different to what we have seen and especially no “medieval fantasy” with elves, orcs and dwarfs — “AND NO MAGIC!”.

We were really thinking a lot about renting an office for Calystral, but since the crew is spreaded all over the world anyway and we are actually working on decentralization, we can also just set up a cozy Discord Server instead. It’s cheaper anyway (…actually it’s for free :D (like our base set! ;D)). And with the savings we can rent other cool places anywhere in the world to meet with the team for a few weeks once in a while!

Uff, a lot of work got done!
Since we are straightly heading towards the launch of our presale we now established our marketing on many new channels and polished up our websites!
Additional to our websites of Calystral and Synergy of Serra, our Medium channel and our Discord Server… We now also keep contact to the outer space via Twitter, Facebook and Instagram!
Each channel has a different purpose. Be sure to check them out to stay up to date about new features, launch dates, events and giveaways!
Also, our whitelist is growing insane! We will need to add some new levels and (super awesome :D) rewards for that soon.

What a fun and exciting month!
We had several riddles and challenges with the community going on in discord and presale preperations are running hot!
Who could have thought that our community is able to solve our hardest riddle in only 8 days! Just for the records, it was the followoing:

“I am by 60° at 1998 for 100% and 39 at 50%”
People loved solving riddles so much they even handed in some guest challenges! Not necessary to mention it took up to a month to solve these…

What an exciting month! We have been the main sponsor of the first Play to Earn Game Festival in Cryptovoxels! As a reward for that, the organizer, Robert Hoogendoorn (nederob) created a gigantic bagni statue just on top of the festival building!
At this festival we pitched the idea of Synergy of Serra among other big names of the Crypto Gaming space like The Sandbox, Gods Unchained, Axie Infinity, Splinterlands, Gala Games, Chainmonsters, Nine Chronicles, The Six Dragons Quests,…
All under one roof, called “Play to Earn Game Festival powered by Synergy of Serra”!

I just have to make an extra entry for our awesome community! Over the year we had several art contests and the results were just mind blowing! Oh and did I already mention, that a community member started making promo videos of Synergy of Serra? QueenP suddenly just started posting some amazing video artworks into our channels! We even set up a Youtube channel to publish them properly!

Alpha Fame is in its final stage of development. It is called testing!
So let’s hope Ex-Master Julian, Marcel and Wolf can get everything done as soon as possible and Alpha Fame can go live in March.
Did you see that?! Yes you read correctly its E X-Master Julian! After a long and wealthy era of ruling the Invitational Tournaments of SoS Julian finally got thrown off his throne! The new emperor of Invitational SoS Tournaments is no one less than Master summerflame!
