The unique beauty of the flowers that emerge during summer in succulents and cacti, especially Adenium, is phenomenal. Today, so many vibrant flower shades are brightening up our home.

In the photos, you’ll see both double and single blooms, typical of "Adenium obesum"—a highly prized plant for its abundant flowering during the holiday season.

Globally, many of these flowers are identified by numbers due to the vast variety of grafted hybrids. The ones that captivate me the most are the yellow, mauve, and orange blooms—I love observing them closely.

The abundance of shapes, textures, and hues showcases the botanical richness of these species, which thrive under the blazing sun.

All these recent Adeniums exude an air of exotic elegance. I obtained this particular flower type from cuttings of highly prized Thai hybrids, cherished by collectors worldwide.

As you can see, these specimens boast healthy, fleshy leaves with woody, thickened stems (caudex)—a clear sign they’re thriving and perfectly adapted to hot, arid climates like Cuba’s.

I wonder if @nikv, @sacra97, @sanjeevm, @solominer @mysteriousroad @riverflows @akipponn @anggreklestari @isdarmady and @ewkaw have any of these varieties in their collections? #hivegarden #cacti

I just have to tell you all – cacti 🌵 are my passion and my daily stress relief. There’s no better way to start the day! Every Astrophytum species will always hold a special place in my collection.

The variegated ones are truly spectacular – @nikv, look how gorgeous they've gotten this summer! I’ve even managed to harvest seeds from some of them, including the Medusae!

I didn’t have time to photograph the blooms of these Rebutia and Stenocactus species—got tangled up with work at the shop. They’re real eye-catchers though, covered in spines and with unique structures. Their flowers? A gorgeous pink!

These are the famous 'Gymnocalycium' I took some shots especially for my fellow fan @arveno, who has an impressive collection of these cacti. The most fascinating part? He grows them on their own roots, something I’ve never managed to achieve in my country; I always end up with grafted ones.

They’re absolutely stunning with their vibrant reds, blacks, purples, pinks, yellows, and multicolored blends. About 70% of the varieties I know produce white to soft pink flowers. They require delicate care but reward you beautifully when basked in sunlight.

Finally, our beloved Melocactus and Echinocactus grusonii (Golden Barrel Cactus) that have been thriving all summer long!

The wonderful thing about these flowers is you can cross-pollinate them - this means more seeds for the future, and most importantly, new baby plants and hybrids to carry on the legacy of the mature specimens in our collection.

Beautiful blooms! I have two adeniums that I grew from seed. But they are the most common ones, not as pretty as yours. And much smaller too.

If you have information on how to get cuttings from Cuba 🇨🇺 to your country, I’d gladly give you some @ewkaw, but I don’t know that information—I’ve never left my country or sent packages abroad, my friend.

It’s great to hear that you liked the Adeniums and their flowers 😊. Which ones do you have—the pink obesum??

Greetings and have a great weekend!! 🤗☺️🙏🏻

Thank you!
I think it would be very expensive to send here + they might be stuck at customs. I don't think they would survive the trip.

Yes, I think its obesum :) Pink flower with lighter throat and darker edges.

Oh, yes! Those pink ones are super hardy for grafting all those colors—they're the best, @ewkaw.

It's a shame we live so far apart; I’ve given away so many Adeniums to close friends. But in Thailand, you can find them at a good price. The man who sold me mine here in Cuba (when they were small) gets the cuttings from that country and propagates them here.

I dont know how the sending from Thailand would be. I am not thinking of getting more now so it's ok. I have a whole bunch of cactus seedlings that will need more room soon so I dont have much space of other plants.
But thank you for the offer :D

Oh, okay, okay!! I know sometimes gardening can get complicated. In my case, I have a plant shop in my country, so I’m always selling and acquiring new ones @ewkaw.

But I haven’t seen your posts on Hive in a while. Tag me so I can see them too!

I really wish I could get my hands on caput medusae. I'm not good with growing adeniums, I think our winters are just too cold

If you once told me you live in cold places, I have a friend from Canada who has many plants, mainly Bonsai, and it's really cold there—yet how beautiful they look, @nikv. It seems these little trees love humid environments.

I got the Medusae at a fair—I have three—and I took seeds from them this year. Let’s see if they germinate. I’d love to send you lots of seeds and plants, but I don’t know how to ship them. I’ve never left Cuba or sent packages to any other region. Do you know how?

Greetings, Nikv, and have an excellent weekend! 😊🤗☺️🙏🏻

It's super expensive to send anything here that might arrive, our post office doesn't work anymore so probably not worth it 😔

Enjoy your weekend too!

Ohhh!! 😩😔 I get it—it’s not easy when we live far away and want to help others. I hope one day I can travel, and if I manage to, I’ll visit some of you where you live and bring you a little something, @nikv—count on it. 🙏🏻

Greetings 🫂, my dear friend, and have a lovely Sunday!! 😊

Beautiful....

Thanks you so much 😍🤩 @sanjeevm !! 🌵

These flowers are so beautiful

Thank you so much, @mysteriousroad, for your support! I’m so glad you liked the post and the flowers, my friend. Your comment made me super happy. 😊🙏🏻🤗 Sending hugs and wishing you a beautiful day!

Wao que bello. Verdad que cuando florecen lucen diferentes amor. Una verdadera obra de arte natural

Muchas gracias amorcito!!

What a beautiful garden! Each one more beautiful than the last, and you have a variety there. Some I've never seen before in the colors of desert roses; they're marvelous. I've taken a visual tour of each one; the doubles are beautiful, and I've truly enjoyed them. Congratulations, a beautiful contribution, and they return that love and affection with their beautiful colors. I'll try to contribute from these simple gardens. Hugs.

Dang how can your stenocacti can growing pretty well??

Well, I'll tell you that Stenocactus are one of the hardest species to grow in my country. Their care is a bit demanding, but they can handle a lot of drought, and with just a little water—mostly rainwater—they bounce back really well.

You should go for it! I saw a few days ago that you posted your Gymnocalyciums—they had such nice colors, bro.

These months, the cacti in my garden are very grateful and are blooming. Thanks for the support!!

yeah you need to get Gymno LB hybrid var. I dont know in your country those gymno can easy to get or not but here in my country there are plenty of it. And easy to growing up and flowering and some of them already mixed with another type of Gymno.
But Steno is kinda rare in my country. Need to buy from Thailand first i guess

Here in Cuba, many collectors already have Steno, so several species can be found in the region. But Gymnocalycium ("gymno") is harder to find and grow here—the one you have in your garden is a beautiful variegated one.

Here in Cuba, those aren’t available anywhere; the ones we have are either grafted or just the common types.

i think we should do barter
but i dont know how much cost from Indonesia to Cuba

No idea @arveno, I've never traveled outside of Cuba, nor sent packages. I don’t know how the process would be, bro. But if you have any information, let me know. I can send you Stenocactus and seeds—as many as you want to Indonesia. I just need to know the method!

If I make mistakes when writing, it’s because my language is Spanish 🙏🏻

Stenocatus dislike too much sun although I live near the equator so the sun is strong here. I find they like regular water but the mix should drain well or it will rot

wait2 steno dislike direct sun light?
But when not get so much light my steno also died too
thats why i kinda confused how to treat steno
and what make me stop because the price here is very expensive

Mine get morning sun and afternoon shade and they are happy like that so it's not that they dislike direct sun but that they don't want to bake in the sun all day. Here the little ones aren't expensive
