Blooming my cactus Matucana madisoniorum

The diameter of this cactus, at home, can reach up to 10 centimeters.

Matucana madisoniorum needs maximum light all year round.
Loves direct sunlight. He is not afraid of drought.
But during flowering, watering should be regular and abundant.

During the dormant period (winter), it is better to keep it in cool conditions.
The minimum temperature in winter is + 8 ° C.
In winter, watering is minimal, no more than twice a month.

P.S. Information from the Internet:
"The Matucana Madisoniorum cactus is an amazing culture, whose name comes from the name of a small town in Peru, where it is endemic. Now this plant species is in serious danger of extinction, therefore it is protected by the International Association for the Conservation of Nature."

The photos I were taken with a Lenovo TAB 2 A10-70L tablet

I like the way the spines bunch up in the centre

Thanks, me too.
Now my second one has made several buds, about 5-6.
But, for some reason, they stopped in development.

Are you watering less? My cacti abort their buds if there's a dry time

Yes, unfortunately I sometimes even dry them out :-)

Beautiful orange! Very big one too! What will happen if there were five flowers blooming at once!!

Thank you very much!
There will be super beauty! :-)
I have a second cactus like this one has 5-6 buds :-)
