Astrophytum capricorne is native to Northern Mexico.
This Astrophytum grows among rocks and thorny bushes, mainly on limestone rocks.
This Astrophytum has synonyms: Echinocactus capricornis, Astrophytum capricorne var. crassispinum, Astrophytum senile, Maierocactus capricornus.
Of course, I'm not a scientist, but why complicate things so much?
If I met all these names, I would not have guessed that this is all my handsome Astrophytum capricorne!
Astrophytum capricorne begins to bloom at 3-4 years of age.
And only if it was grown in favorable conditions for it.
It blooms beautifully, as you can see.
But, unfortunately, his flower lasts only
1-2 days.
True, there is a bonus: the flower has a lovely sweet scent!
Since Astrophytum capricorne is a desert cactus, it needs direct sunlight.
During the dormant period, it must be kept at a temperature of + 7-10 ° C.
Unlike some cacti, Astrophytum capricorne needs water regularly, once a week.
If kept dry, the cactus will easily tolerate temperatures as low as -9°C for a short period.
And now I'll show you a photo of my handsome.
The photos I were taken with a Lenovo TAB 2 A10-70L tablet
How do you like these thorns?
It is a beautiful flower!! Also so good that it has a sweet scent, but yeah, it's a pity that for just one or two days you can enjoy the blooming.
Thanks a lot!
Of course, I would like the flower to bloom longer, but there are still buds 😊
And yet, since I have a lot of flowers, something is sure to bloom again and my "snuff apparatus" can switch 🤭
