Whats up guys, first of all I want to offer an apology because I recorded the video in Spanish because it is much easier for me this way and I had thought about adding the subtitles in the video, unfortunately due to time and work issues it is not possible for me to do this task right now and I really wanted you to have the opportunity to see this beauty before more time goes by.
In the video I talked about the mix that I use, a 90% mineral and 10% organic soil, I talk about the materials such as pumice stone, tezontle which is lava rock, and worm humus which contributes 10% organic to the mix.
Since early in the morning I was waiting for the flower to open and it did it in a spectacular way, the following pictures were taken during the day so as not to lose detail, I leave them below for you to enjoy.
In the video I also talked about that I had contacted a person to pollinate the Ariocarpus, unfortunately by the time he arrived from work the flowers of his Ariocarpus had already closed and today they didn't open, it is a real shame that this happened, but hopefully next year I will have more specimens in flowering stage.
I also mentioned that I do a monthly fertilization with potassium and phosphorus, and almost nothing of nitrogen, in the next video I will show you the chemical I use and the quantities I use, regarding the mix I mentioned that with a good substrate we shouldn't be afraid that our plants will die because of excess of humidity, for example my ariocarpus was two months exposed to the constant rain of the season, but the sun and the wind, in addition to the good substrate, didn't allow the water to stagnate, my Ariocarpus was happy, you already saw it in its flowering.

I'm super excited, I haven't felt this way in a long time.
I really like to see how the pots are filled with weeds, there are some that I do remove but I like to keep others, the truth is that I like the cactus collections but I appreciate a collection a little neglected and that looks more like the natural ones.
Right at this moment I just arrived from my friend Fernando's garden, I put some pollen and hopefully I will get some hybrid, I will talk about all this in my next post because I will not have free time until Sunday night, so in the next post I will show you what I just did, see you soon. 😉
Those really are special! I get rid of the weeds like oxalis but I leave the anacampseros to come up everywhere in my pots. I also get little cacti (mammillaria) and adeniums popping up. I look forward to the next post !
I think it is good to let some weeds grow in the pots to help the elimination of excess moisture, plus it contributes visually to the landscape we want to develop.
The oxalis needs to be controlled here or it smothers everything. Sometimes the best way to get rid of it is by not watering for a while. The succulents are fine and oxalis dies
