We often catch birds one of the branches in the Neem tree. Whether it's to rest, to rinse of or just to lay low until the rain stops. Tanja and I always enjoy watching them and alerting each other of the newest visitors. It's just recently that I realized that spot for the birds was possible because of us planting that 10 cm plant about a year ago.
Just like our feathered friends other animals enjoy the variety of plants we have all over the yard. In some weird way there's a balance between our grounds and house that are manmade and the factors of nature. The tree in the picture is one of the first ones, and is therefore also much taller than the others. One can only imagine what the yard will look like in about 5 years. Whatever it will look like, I'm sure many more of nature's ambassadors will find a nice place to stay within it.
Much like the message Junior Reid and Julian Marley try to bring us, let us try and live in tune with mother nature as much as possible.
I miss the sounds of all the birds in Jamaica, used to wake up to some very exotic birds and watching them on the veranda was bliss. Now, the only bird you really here in Japan is crows 😆.
Plant up those trees yes. What kind of plant 🪴 is it? Looks like a tamarind.
We have them here each morning. So much so that I have to mute my mic when having work meetings in the morning. Crickets at night are also always on time.
This one is a Neem tree. An evergreen of which the leaves are used locally for medicinal or cultural purposes.
