For someone who likes delicious food and can eat large portions, I'm not really one that you'll often find for long periods of time in the kitchen, trying out recipes. Of course there are the occasional here and there, especially when I want to treat others with my skills or when I want to try out something new, but those are more rare than custom.
So there I was Sunday morning, contemplating what to have for a warm meal and I looked in the fridge and checked my notes of what I had left, thinking not to make a big deal out of it and to keep it simple. The most simple food item was a can of green peas in my pantry and I remembered I had a cut of boneless ham in my freezer, so the choice was easily made.
The usual ingredients like onion, garlic and tomatoes got diced, after which I cut the ham in small cubes. Then I baked the ham in its own fat, removed it after and then proceeded to sautΓ© the onion and garlic in the fat of the ham.

When golden brown, in went the tomatoes and the green peas. Then I added one cube chicken bouillon, grated a pinch of nutmeg and added salt and pepper to taste.

Lastly, in went the ham, that I let simmer with the rest of the ingredients on medium to low heat with the lid on. Sometimes water gets added for those who would prefer a sauce, but the peas had enough moisture, so I left that part out.
And that's what I had for a meal last Sunday folks: a simple yet full of flavor green peas with ham. Not too much fuss and yet hitting those taste buds the right way, with especially the nutmeg that I learned to put in this dish from @rarej. What did you have last weekend? That looks really good. These days we can't spend too much time in the kitchen as time seems to have sped up!π That cover pic presentation is NICE!
Thank you π. I was thinking "how can I elevate my presentations" and remembered this trick I had learned at a former employer.

Time is money π .
I see the creative plating there.
Thank you π.
The rice was plated with a small triangle plastic container: scoop rice in the container, mush it together in the container, put plate above the opening of the container and then turn it around. Gently remove container from the rice.
Great job π !ALIVE

That dish looks very good, I really liked it, those peas look delicious, I don't cook much but there are days when I love to make a good dish for my girlfriend, the heart you made reminded me of those dishes, I think it's a dish full of love, it's better than a 5 star, congratulations.
Thank you for the sweet compliments π.
