Hi guys, sharing my weekly battle challenge for today and I chose TIDE BITER as my monster challenge, I will be sharing my match with him, his general stats, and thoughts on him.
First, we have to know the story of TIDE BITER and according to the splinterlands lore; The vampire now simply known as the Tide Biter was once a human. He was a sailor who loved the seas, and his adventures were successful due to his powerful water mana spells. As a mage and captain of his ship, he commanded great respect and admiration. When a vampire attacked and caught his boat on the open ocean, however, he was nearly killed. Bitten and thrown to his death in the water, the sailor thought his time had come.
His powerful connection with the water saved him. He healed his mortal wounds, but could not stop the vampirism from transforming him. He knew his old life was gone. He embraced a new life of piracy, sailing under the moon and drinking the blood of murderers and thieves. If he were to be cursed with this disease, he would use its power to enact his own form of justice.
The Tide Biter is fueled with a vengeance for the manner of his change. Sailing across the seas of Praetoria, he hunts the vampire that turned him. With the love of his crew behind him, he sails the open waters of the Splinterlands, forever hunting his quarry.
TIDE BITER has 3 abilities which are REACH that will be automatically available at level 1, REFLECTION SHIELD at level 3, and lastly TRUE STRIKE at level 6.

CARD PRICE
TIDE BITER is an epic card from the water splinter which gives 100 CP for the regular foil and 2500 CP for the gold foil version.
At the time of writing, TIDE BITER regular foil is currently priced at $0.137 and it requires 10 bcx to upgrade to level 3 which will cost $1.37 and will also give 1000 CP.
The gold foil version costs $6.467 and it will be automatically upgraded to level 2 it will require 2 bcx to upgrade it to level 3 which will cost $12.934 and also gives 5000 CP.
Playing this card is also possible without owning it, via renting. Currently, you can rent level 1 regular foil of this card for 0.1 DEC/Day while the gold version costs 6.667 DEC/Day, and for level 3, the regular foil costs 1.333 DEC/Day while the gold foil costs 6.667 DEC/Day.
WEAKNESS AND STRENGTHS
STRENGTHS, TIDE BITER is one of my favourite monster in the game especially at level 2, which will be great against monster with BLAST ability or with the EXPLOSIVE WEAPONRY ruleset, and with his above-average stats he will be one of the greatest monsters in the low mana cap games.
WEAKNESS, this monster's only weakness is he has no armor which makes him vulnerable for a secondary position.
RULESET
The game has a 27 mana cap and with the rulesets EARTHQUAKE 
and EXPLOSIVE WEAPONRY 
. This makes TIDE BITER excellent in this match, his REFLECTION will nullify the BLAST damage thus I need monsters with FLYING ability and support monsters that will further increase my win rate.
SUMMONER
KELYA FRENDUL is the best fit for TIDE BITER because of his +armor and +speed buff, it will increase both of it's defensive and offensive capabilities.
TANKS
GARGOYA LION, is one of the best available tanks in my lineup, his VOID will counter any magic damage and his FLYING ability will nullify the EARTHQUAKE damage, this monster can tank against both magic and physical damage.
TIDE BITER is the secondary tank and damage dealer at the same time, his 4 speed and 2 damage will be excellent with the BLAST will make him a great damage dealer and his REFLECTION SHIELD will nulify the BLAST damage that will make him a great tank.
SNEAK COMBO
URAEUS, is the finisher for my SNEAK duo, he will be eliminating the backline of the enemy monsters.
PELACOR BANDIT is the first SNEAK monster that will either remove the armor of the enemy backline or reduce the HP while my URAEUS will finish it off.
UTILITY MONSTERS
VENARI WAVESMITH is the main support of my lineup and the main magic damage dealer, his +2 armor will increase the durability of all of my monsters that will protect them from the EARTHQUAKE damage.
ANGELIC MANDARIN is the secondary support in my lineup, his TRIAGE ability will counter any SNEAK monsters and will buy more time for my damage dealers to win me the game.
In the battle of the KELYA, the enemy went for 3 support monsters while I went for an aggressive 2 SNEAK and 4 frontal damage monsters.
TIDE BITER was the game changer and the MVP in this round, thanks to his REFLECTION SHIELD ability the BLAST damage was nullified, while the enemy was receiving damage from both my frontal and SNEAK damage monsters.
The game ended in the second round, the EARTHQUAKE damage removed the armor of all of the enemy monsters and killed off his main tank, which made all of his monsters vulnerable to my SNEAK damage along with their BLAST damage which won me the game.
AFTERTHOUGHTS
TIDE BITER is one of my favorite monsters in the game, I always use him whenever I can. Both in high and low mana cap games, especially in the EXPLOSIVE WEAPONRY ruleset.
I won't be changing my lineup because I won the game comfortably without losing any monsters.

I only managed to have a level 1 Tide Biter.
I've checked his stats and he is really one useful fellow specially on low mana battles.
I am currently looking at buying from the market to level him up.
