I had the luck to live in Greece for 7 months, based in Athens. I travelled all around the country, hitting the most important places in that gorgeous country. Greece is full of history, nature, yummy food and lovely people. I have been in many tropical countries, but the best beaches and the best sea I have ever seen are in Greece, no doubt! This is the first part. Next post the second part.

I start with Athens and its main attraction: the Acropolis!

Korinthos is another ancient famous city in Greece, today popular mostly for the canal and the hot springs. It is mentioned in the New Testament by Saint Paul, who dedicated two letters to its population.

A must to see in Greece is the archaeological site of Delphi, maybe the most beautiful all over the country. It lies on a mystical mountain full of trees that gives a magical atmosphere to this place. Here, the famous Oracle of Delphi used to predict the future.

Another must archaeological site is the one of Epidauros, with its huge theatre in which the acoustic is literally amazing! Try with a friend, stay a the top while your friend is talking in the centre of the stage: the result will impress you!

Another important archaeological site is the one of Olimpia, famous for its games, which gave the names to the popular Olimpic Games played even nowadays.

Mycenae was the city and the reign that gave the name to the famous ancestry that dominated Greece back in time.

Greece is not only about ancient time. During the Christian era, the site called Meteora was populated by monks who were escaping from the attack of the Turkish. The perched monasteries built on top of high mountains became soon famous and they represent now one of the most marvellous attractions of the country.

But the best part of the country is the islands. I visited some of them and I had the luck to live and work in Kos for a month! The best sunsets in my life!

I hope that you enjoyed my thumbnail about Greece! It was hard to choose the photos to post as most of theme were really beautiful. See you for another travel together!
