My trip to Lyon

Last week I had to travel for work again, this time to Lyon where I stayed for a week to provide training at the new branch we are opening on software for managing operations.

I made the trip on Monday at lunchtime.

When I started arriving to land in Lyon I saw some very interesting landscapes.

I simply love this type of landscape, with lots of well-maintained greenery and some clusters of houses.

I imagine it must be very peaceful and calm to live there, unlike what happens in big cities.

Since life can't be all work, I managed to go to the center of Lyon with my colleagues during the week.

Although I went to the center of Lyon at night, I was quite surprised.

When we arrived in the center of Lyon, I saw the Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière in the distance.

(Unfortunately, the camera isn't good enough for this type of photography.)

Since we went on a Tuesday evening, everything was quite calm, and we were able to walk peacefully along the streets with their old sidewalks. We could see the typical Lyon pavement, and I gained knowledge about the architectural history of the buildings in the "old" area.

During the tour we passed by the famous Lyon theater, the Théâtre des Célestins.

That night I had bouchon for dinner, a typical Lyon dish.

Unfortunately, I didn't have another opportunity to return to the center of Lyon during the following days.

However, on my last day I went to dinner at a well-known restaurant called Brasserie Georges.

A beautiful restaurant with old architecture.

One fantastic thing that happens at this restaurant whenever someone is celebrating their birthday is that every time a birthday cake is on its way to the table, the lights go out, a waiter goes to the music box and starts spinning it to make music.

I found this experience simply fantastic.

I regret not having had more opportunities to see more historical and emblematic buildings because Lyon is an extremely religious city and has beautiful churches and cathedrals.

One day I have to return to Lyon for leisure to be able to visit all the emblematic buildings of the city.

Without a doubt, a city I wish to return to again.
