Indeed the Baltic coastline is beautiful, was also a surprise for myself being there for the first time. As you said just the palms are missing and you realize that when you go for a swim and discover the water temperature needs an extra 10 degC to feel tropical :) This part of EuroVelo 7 from Berlin to Copenhagen is beautiful, easy, well developed and connected and is well suited for all ages and levels of experience and I would say ideal for families.
