Birch Settlement

in TravelFeed6 years ago

Birch Settlement is a village in Nyuksensky district, which is located in Vologda region of Russia. Territorially it is included in part of the Nyuksensky rural settlement. The administrative district center is very close - only ten kilometers along a good road. The population of village is about 400 people by according to the 2002 census, but now maybe less.

The village is located on the high bank of the Sukhona River at the confluence of the Uftuga River. It would seem that according to the description, everything should look intriguingly interesting!

Either I snickered, or really such places are not really impressive anymore. Well, after all, everything has to admire the views!

And the houses are old and the church is standing, but it does not cause emotions. Maybe because the temple is restored, and I'm a lover of the abandoned. Maybe the cloudy weather affected...

The Birch Settlement is dominated by a cozy atmosphere. Narrow streets and ancient houses, standing on a ruler - all that is needed for a photographer like me.

Ah, yeah, I was driving through here and did not study this village in detail! Where do emotions and impressions come from if I didn’t even go down to the river?

The village is typical of the Sukhonsky tract of the Nyuksensky district. Location, type of buildings, atmosphere - everything matches!

Perhaps I will decide to stop by here someday. This is a place where you can look for a break during a trip from Vologda to Veliky Ustyug (almost across the whole Vologda region).

Here you can stop, go for a walk, enjoy the views, take a couple of beautiful photos.

And then again on the road...
