Polutino

in TravelFeed5 years ago

Polutino is a village which located in the Veliky Ustyug district of the Vologda region of Russia. This area is part of the Mardengsky rural settlement. The distance by dirt forest road to the regional center of Veliky Ustyug is 11.5 miles, to the center of the municipality of village Blagoveschenie is 1,86 miles. Population is five people according to the census in 2002.

This is a mystery village. In Polutino there is one house in the middle of a field. How were the five tenants there? Maybe there were more houses, but why was there only one left?

I tried to capture this village back in 2010 in late autumn. But I never got to the only house.

Then we thought that for the sake of one house it was not worth going, but this time I simply could not: there was very deep snow. But I was able to photograph this house much closer! Although only half of it got into the frame, and the second hid behind the hillside.

Roughly speaking, I was only able to capture the roof. The house is beautiful, with a mezzanine, but it will not let you in any way. There is a large larch tree next to the house.

Photo from a trip in 2010. In those days, there was still a road to the house.

Hopefully on my third try I can get to this house. By that time, it seems to me that it will already be abandoned. It is imperative to get to this place during the snowless season.
