Rebtsovo. Pt.2

in TravelFeed4 years ago

The number of unvisited places in the Veliky Ustyug district decreases each time, and I begin to wonder: "What's next?"

There are simply a huge number of abandoned villages in the Vologda region, not to mention Russia as a whole. Should I continue to document past places or switch to other more important life projects?

Now nobody can surprise anyone with such photos: in the country, many bloggers have visited much more interesting and significant places. It is rather a local history project of local importance, because except for the residents of the region, these villages are no longer interesting to anyone.

It is sad to plunge into reality and realize commonplace things, but this is life and if you want something more global, then you need to move in that direction. But they don’t want to let me go from the parochialism, apparently until I capture the last ruin. Yes, I like it, but occasionally the brain hints that it's a dead end, bro.

They say to do what you like. This is also true of photography. I’m doing it, but when I think about the prospects, it brings me back to earth from heaven.

No, I will finish this project exactly, but I’ll think about the future. In addition, so many places have not yet been completed that it will be enough for more than one year!

You can’t imagine what a pleasure it is in the list of abandoned villages to put a tick “passed”.

First you study the map, then you drive about 500 km, then you prepare for the trip, go off-road, take pictures, process, write the text... and check the box. And then the last thing is the most buzzing!

We were about to leave, but suddenly a bunch of densely growing trees began to look suspiciously from a certain angle. Yes, there is a house here!

Someone, apparently, planted young fir trees and birches around the house many years ago. What did it turn into then no one thought.

No kidding, we almost missed the house!

Of course, it is not outstanding, but we can not lose sight of a single building! This is a story!

Mona Lisa is very common image in abandoned houses.

From a high hill you can see the village of Baksheevo.

Previously, everything around was viewed over long distances.

A barn or a bathhouse in the middle of a spacious field. Apparently, before, somewhere nearby were still at home.

How many years will you give? I would give ten years through which this building will turn into disordered ruins.

Rebtsovo is located not so far from the residential village of Gorbachevo, which also has a not very bright future.

And the future of the village of Rebtsovo has long been decided. The stage of no return has dominated here for many years.

At the bottom of the hill there is also the village of Antipovo, which is practically adjacent to Rebtsovo. For some reason I did not capture it, although there is nothing there.

But at least I mentioned it..
