Visiting (Me) in Singapore

Singapore
Barkada trip

They say that if a friendship lasts longer than 7 years, it will last a lifetime.

Well, I have been friends with these mofo’s since forever. We all met in school; these guys are like siblings to me.

This trip was somewhat a dream come true for us. Somewhat, in a sense that we managed to fulfill the dream, but not how we want it to be — complete.

We grabbed the opportunity, though two others were not able to join us, knowing that it might never cross our lives again.

That time, they found affordable flight tickets from Cebu Pacific. To minimize the costs, we decided not to stay in a hotel since I have my room space from where my boyfriend and I were renting. We're used to squeeze ourselves anywhere, anytime.

Those where the days...

After work, I picked them up from the airport. And since my place was far from the airport and it was costly to take a cab, we took the train ride home.
We left their belongings and went straight out.

Our first stop was Sentosa.

Entrance fee to Sentosa is free. But if you take the monorail, that would be $4 off your ez-link or a ticket.

To end our first day, we had a little drinking session with my supportive flatmates at home. It was a chill session considering that our next day would be big.

The following day was Universal Studios Singapore day!

You're never
too old to have fun!

We didn’t give any ride a miss except for those too ‘kiddy’ for us like the merry-go-round and such. Our favorite will be The Mummy ride!

Little side story: Most amusement parks have the booth when you exit the ride where you can purchase souvenirs and photos of the ride. When we saw our photo from The Mummy, it seemed like Kei fainted while on the ride! We never thought that we get to experience those funny trending videos on social media.

Only the boys braved Battlestar Galactica. I tried that once before, never going to do it again. HAHA

From USS, we went home to celebrate Marvin’s birthday.

I needed to report for work the next day. So I left them at home for half a day. Then I met up with them to stroll around the city…

...wandered Orchard, Bugis, Little India and Arab street,

...walked Marina area from Merlion Park to MBS and back to Jubilee Bridge.

It was tiring, definitely, but it was a lot of fun!

The last day was intended for rest, last day shopping and flight back to Manila. But everyone was super tired that we decided to just stay at home and wait for the flight.

Crazy Story

One of us decided to do a very last minute shopping by himself. I will let you, guys, guess who. It was so last minute that we were waiting for him… and were thinking to leave him behind so the rest won’t miss the flight.

We were already stressing out and figuring out a way how to wait for him without missing the flight. Btw, we didn’t get any form of communication like pocket wifi, since we know that I will be with them all throughout their stay in SG. So yeah, we were restless – we didn’t know where he was, and if he knew how to get back to the house.

We gave ourselves a deadline that when that time comes and he hasn’t come yet, he will leave him. Good thing, he came just in the nick of time.
We quickly took their bags and left.

We ran endlessly to be in time for the check-in. We saw the check-in counter was still open, so we relaxed a bit. We even bought donuts!

When we reached the counter, the airline representative declined us to check-in their flight. She said we were late and the boarding gate was already closed.

I can still remember the feeling when my face went black. Oh, the horror of missing a flight!

It was the donuts' fault!

We ended up buying food again to relieve our stress and to think about our plan.
Everyone needed to go back to Manila to report for work so they had no choice but to buy last minute tickets.

Looking back, I don’t think they regretted it, I definitely don’t.
I didn't buy any tickets, anyway 😂

Our Conclusion:

Donuts > Flight

Crazier Story

Little did we know that during this trip, we were already expecting our first-born baby Hardcore 🤘

We only found out after a few more months.

Fun times! #SolidSince2006
