Christmas tourist walk

in TravelFeed3 days ago

Libina is a village situated between Olomouc and Šumperk. It is actually where the Hornomoravský valley ends and the Jeseníky foothills begin. And I got an e-mail on Friday: we're going to Libina tomorrow, are you coming?

On the one hand, it's a good idea to go for a walk in the countryside and burn some of those Christmas cutlets, potato salad and sweets. On the other hand, the warmth and comfort of home is also an attraction. I prepared a snack for the road on Friday afternoon, but when I got up the next morning I thought several times: do I really want to go there?

But in the end I convinced myself (and I was right). There were six of us, ranging in age from 12 to 70+. We went from Libina to Nová Hradečná via Bradlo hill. The route is about 7 kilometres long and the altitude profile is about 250 metres up and 300 metres down. It takes about two and a half hours in easy mountain terrain. But we had a lot of fun, we had a snack, we rested... so the time doubled. But it doesn't matter - we're not in a race.

I'd like to write that the morning was foggy, but the truth is that we started up the hill just before noon. So - noon was foggy. But the fog was in the distance. We had clear skies all the way. The kind of clear winter sky that's almost cloudless and unnaturally blue.

My jsme měli po celou cestu jasnou oblohu. Takovou tu zimně jasnou, kdy je nebe téměř bez mráčku a až nepřirozeně modré.

As we made our way, we met a few tourists here and there, but as we approached Bradlo hill, the number of people increased, and below the peak, there were so many of them! We had a great time talking, having fun, roasting sausages and toasting to the new year.

The sun sets early in winter, so we descended down to Nová Hradečná in the afternoon, but already at twilight.

Některou z fotek pošlu do soutěže #aroundtheworld. První nebo poslední? To se ještě rozhodnu...
