The water flows between the thick rubber plantations belonging to the Kampar community. If the sun is hot, it can be blocked by thick rubber leaves. This river from upstream to downstream twists like a snake. The water flows gently which pampers children to swim.
I had the opportunity to visit this river at the end of 2015, hundreds of people were seen busy visiting the river. To enter the river area from the edge of the ring road in Bangkinang, it is only set at IDR 5,000 per person plus a car park ticket of IDR 10,000. Hundreds of people were seen crowded in the river. They spread their mats on the river bank. Parents monitor their children from the river bank. Even so, not a few adults plunged into the cold river.
Many children on holiday bathe there, because the water is shallow and clear. So that parents are not so worried if their children who are over the age of 5 years will drown. The upper reaches of the river to the lower reaches of the ring road border, the length is more than 400 meters. Along that we are free to choose a location for swimming. Vehicle parking is provided under a rubber tree.
Approaching the new year 2016 where. Riau is hit by the rainy season, the river water, which is usually clear, turns brown. But once the water does not make your skin or white clothes turn brown. Not sure why the river is named 'Green River'. But when it's not the rainy season, the river water looks clear. Regardless of the origin of the word 'green', this recreation area is starting to become famous from Kampar Regency to Pekanbaru. The people of Pekanbaru make alternative green rivers to take children on vacation to swim in the river.
