Hello,
I'm finally writing the last post of my long-unfinished Utah, Salt Lake trip. Since the other articles were in Turkish, I felt the need to change the title. After a fun day in the city of Salt Lake, I found myself on the road again. This time, we were heading to Antelope Island.

Uzun zamandır bitiremediğim Utah, Salt Lake gezimin son yazısını yazıyorum. Bu gezideki diğer yazılar Türkçe oldugundan dolayi başlığı deüistirme ihtiyacı duydum. Tuz Gölü Şehrinde gecirdiğim eğlenceli günden sonra kendimi tekrardan yolda buluverdim. Bu sefer Antelope Adasina gidiyorduk.
Antelope Island, a remarkable gem nestled in the Great Salt Lake of Utah, stands as a testament to the wild and unbridled beauty of nature. Connected to the mainland by a slender causeway, the island unfolds as a realm untouched by the hustle and bustle of city life. As we drove across the causeway, the vastness of the Great Salt Lake enveloped us, a mirage of water shimmering under the sun.
Utah'ın Büyük Tuz Gölü'nde yer alan olağanüstü bir doğa harikası olan Antelope Adası, doğanın vahşi ve dizginlenmemiş güzelliğinin bir kanıtı olarak karşımızda duruyor. Kıtaya ince bir kara yolu ile bağlı olan ada, şehir hayatının koşuşturmasından uzak, dokunulmamış bir alan olarak karşımıza çıkıyor. Kara yolundan arabayla geçerken, Büyük Tuz Gölü'nün sınırsızlığı bizi güneşin altında parıldayan bir su serabı gibi sarmaladı.
Along the way, I often stopped to take photos. While wandering through the small walking areas, my camera captured some incredibly beautiful shots, a few of which I am sharing below. This place truly enchanted me. I hope I have the chance to visit again.
Yol boyunca sık sık durup fotoğraf çekmeye çalıştım. Küçük yürüyüş alanlarında dolaşırken, kamerama inanılmaz güzel kareler yakalandı, bunlardan birkaçını aşağıda paylaşıyorum. Bu ada beni gerçekten büyüledi. Umarım tekrar ziyaret etme şansım olur.
The island is a sanctuary for a myriad of wildlife. From the majestic bison that roam freely across the grasslands to the antelope after which the island is named, each creature adds a layer of vitality to the serene landscape. The sight of these animals, thriving in their natural habitat, was a gentle reminder of the world's untamed beauty.
Ada, birçok çeşit vahşi yaşam formuna ev sahipliği yaparak bir sığınak görevi görüyor. Bozkırlarda özgürce dolaşan görkemli bizonlardan, adanın adını aldığı antiloplara kadar her canlı, huzurlu manzaraya bir canlılık katıyor. Bu hayvanların doğal yaşam alanlarında gelişip büyüdüğünü görmek, dünyanın dizginlenmemiş güzelliğinin nazik bir hatırlatıcısı.
Fielding Garr Ranch, located on Antelope Island, is a site rich with history and natural beauty, offering a unique glimpse into the island’s past. Established in 1848, it stands as the oldest continuously operated ranch in Utah. Over the years, it has served various purposes, from a sheep and cattle ranch to a sanctuary for the bison that roam the island. Today, it operates as a museum, providing visitors with insights into the island's ranching history and the daily lives of those who worked there.
Antelope Adası'nda bulunan Fielding Garr Çiftliği, zengin tarihi ve doğal güzellikleriyle, adanın geçmişine özgün bir bakış sunuyor. 1848 yılında kurulan çiftlik, Utah'ta sürekli işletilen en eski çiftlik olma özelliğini taşıyor. Yıllar boyunca farklı amaçlar için hizmet vermiş, koyun ve sığır çiftliğinden, adada dolaşan bizonlar için bir sığınak görevine kadar geniş bir yelpazede kullanılmış. Bugün ise bir müze olarak işlev görmekte, ziyaretçilere adanın çiftçilik tarihi ve orada çalışan insanların günlük yaşamları hakkında bilgi vermekter.
The ranch itself is surrounded by the stunning backdrop of Antelope Island's landscape, making it not only a place of historical significance but also a spot of serene beauty. The area around the ranch is home to a variety of wildlife, including free-roaming horses that add to the charm of the place.
When I entered the ranch, I was greeted by the sight of horses leisurely enjoying the beautiful scenery. To my delight, one of them noticed me and came trotting over as soon as it saw me. After affectionately petting it for a while, it contentedly laid itself back down on the grass. These horses are truly endearing animals :D
Çiftlik, Antelope Adası'nın etkileyici manzarası ile çevrili, sadece tarihi bir öneme sahip olmakla kalmayıp, aynı zamanda sakin bir güzelliğe de sahip bir yer. Çiftliğin çevresi, etrafında dolaşan atlarıyla çekiciliğine çekicilik katarken birçok çeşit yaban hayvana da ev sahipliği yapmakta.

Among the most compelling reasons to visit Antelope Island is the opportunity to witness one of America's most iconic creatures in its natural setting: the bison. The island is home to a free-ranging population of these magnificent beasts, whose presence on Antelope Island dates back to 1893 when a small herd was brought over in an effort to preserve the species from the brink of extinction.
Antelope Adası'nı ziyaret etmek için en ikna edici nedenlerden biri, Amerika'nın en ikonik yaratıklarından biri olan bizonları doğal ortamında gözlemleme fırsatıdır. Seeing these majestic animals up close was nothing short of awe-inspiring. The bison, with their massive frames, shaggy coats, and serene demeanor, embody the spirit of the American West. They graze the island’s grassy plains in herds, often unfazed by the presence of humans observing from a safe distance.
Bu görkemli hayvanları yakından görmek gerçekten hayranlık uyandırıcıydı. Devasa yapıları, kabarık tüyleri ve sakin tavırlarıyla bizonlar, Amerikan Batısı'nın ruhunu temsil ediyor. Sürüler halinde adanın çimenli ovalarında otlayan bizonlar, çoğu zaman güvenli bir mesafeden onları izleyen insanların varlığından etkilenmiyor.
While taking the photo you see below, I realized that traffic had built up behind me. I thought the people in the cars behind me were also trying to capture this scene with their cameras. When the number of vehicles increased significantly, it started to seem pointless. Then, just as I was about to put my camera on the seat and start the car, I saw a bison looking at me through the rearview mirror. It turned out that the cars behind me had stopped not because of me, but because of the bison behind my car :)
Aşağıda gördüğünüz resmi çekerken arkamda trafiğin oluştuğunun farkına vardım. Arkamdaki araçlardakilerin de bu kareyi fotoğraflamaya çalıştığını düşündüm. Araç sayısı bir hayli artınca da anlamsız gelmeye başladı. Sonrasında kameramı koltuğa koyup tam arabayı çalıştıracaktım ki dikiz aynasında bir bizonun bana baktığını gördüm. Meğerse arkadaki araçlar benim yüzümden değil, arabanın arkasındaki bizon için durmuşlar :)
My visit wasn't just about the wildlife; it was also a journey through the island's diverse landscapes. From the rocky beaches that line the shores of the Great Salt Lake to the scenic trails that meander through the island's interior, Antelope Island offers a slice of wilderness for every kind of explorer. I hiked some of these trails, each turn revealing a new vista, a new marvel of the natural world.
As I reflect on my time on Antelope Island, I'm filled with a sense of gratitude for the natural wonders our world has to offer. This visit was more than just a checkmark on my travel list; it was a vivid reminder of the beauty that lies in the heart of Utah, waiting for those willing to seek it.
Ziyaretim sadece vahşi yaşamı gözlemleme ile ilgili değildi; aynı zamanda adanın çeşitli manzaraları arasında bir yolculuktu. Büyük Tuz Gölü'nün kıyılarını çizen kayalık plajlardan, adanın iç kısımlarından dolanan manzaralı yollara kadar, Antelope Adası her türlü kaşif için vahşi doğanın bir parçasını sunuyor. Bu yollardan bazılarında yürüyüş yaptım, her dönüş doğal dünyanın yeni bir manzarasını, yeni bir harikasını ortaya çıkardı.
Antelope Adası'ndaki zamanımı düşündükçe, dünyamızın sunduğu doğa harikaları için bir minnettarlık hissiyle doluyorum. Bu ziyaret, seyahat listemde gitmeyi istediğim yerlerin listesindeki bir çok yerden daha fazlasıydı; Utah'ın kalbinde yatan ve onu aramaya istekli olanları bekleyen güzelliği sizin de görmenizi tavsiye ederim.
