Bangladesh is a country of natural beauty. It is a centre of joy and great source of recreation. You will find a lot of places where you can enjoy you tourism. Most of the areas are purely natural. There is no artificial make up over the places.
If you feel nature, you may visit this places. Here you can smell the soil.. breath fresh air.. feel sunshine.. wet with green water.. and touch the earth.
Some people like to mountaining in hill-track areas... some people like to run over the beach... some people like to gossiping at green park... some others like to bath at streamfall.. You must find everything in Bangladesh.
I am very much lucky that I am Bangladesh by born. I like to travel. I find a lot of tourist places in my country and I visited some. Among them most of the memorable tour was at Kaptai Lake.
Kaptai Lake is the most famous lake in Bangladesh among a lot of others. The lake is located at Kaptai Upazila in Rangamati District of Chittagong Division in Bangladesh.
It's a beautiful spot, and very popular with Bengali sightseers, but because of permit restrictions, the number of places foreigners can visit on the lake is constrained.
It is the largest man-made freshwater lake in Bangladesh that was created primarily as a result of building Kaptai Dam on the River Karnaphuli due to hydroelectric power generation in 1960 for a hydroelectric project.
The Kaptai Lake is very deep with an average depth of about 100 feet or 30 meter including the maximum depth of 490 feet or 150 meter. The lake area is dotted with some tiny islands.
Now it is contributing to produce significant quantity of fishes as well as for navigation, flood control and agricultural purposes.
There are some resorts controlled by Bangladesh army. One of these resorts, Lakeview is very famous. As it is directly operated and controlled by the defense person, this restaurant is very much well decorated and secured area.
If you are thinking about a trip, with friends and family, you contact with the restaurants and get a pre booking. It will make your tour more convenient.
It charges very few amount as only 1.5 USD per each person to get permission ticket on that iceland and resort. They will give you boat facility to come on that Iceland and allow whole day staying facility on the islands as well as the resort.
You may have a pree booking or instantly order for lunch. Otherwise you can bring food items with your own as you wish. The inner restaurant of the resort allow you to take food bringing yourself from home. Now this is your choice.
There are small boat ghats all around the lake. Lakeview island is 10 minutes boat journey distance from Main Kaptai. If you have the booking, you will call to the contact person of Lakeview restaurant and they will receive you on the main Kaptai Ghat.
Lakeview island comprises with a nice Resort including houseboat play ground, boat club, swimming pool, restaurant, green garden and so on. I can assure you that you must like this place.
If anybody wanna stay in houseboat, he will have to pay for this and this service is available only for rainy season. Otherwise the height of water level decreases and the boat can't go through the lake water.
I think it is the most perfect area for family tour, because the Iceland is very much secured by Bangladesh army and a restricted area. Nobody will disturb you and you can enjoy here with your family members.
They have three swimming pool. You have to pay for that pool. But it's very cheap comparing with its recreation and enjoyment. After having a swim, you may take a bath. There are such type of arrangement also.
There are some garden, green grass area, lake shore and playing area for the kids. I think that you can't be bored passing the whole day in that area despite the iceland is very tiny.
If you want to visit the lake by boat, you have to hire boat for hours. There are a lot of boats for hiring. It is enough to hire a boat for only 1 hour by paying 500 to 600 tk. They will show you the lake and dam area having with a great boat journey.
Finally you can finish your with the sunset and returned home with a recharged and refreshed mind..
