Today, I'm featuring a mural by Deps done a few years ago, perhaps one of his earliest works. I didn't put a name to it, as it's a far cry from the realistic portraits of monsters he painted at Legal Wall de Rouen. I'll put up a few examples later in this post, so let me know what you think of his artistic evolution.
Aujourd'hui, je vous propose une murale de Deps faite il y a quelques années, peut être une de ses premières oeuvres. Je n'avais pas mis de nom sur cette oeuvre car nous sommes loin de son style avec des portraits en noir et blanc qu'il réalise au Mur Légal de Rouen. Je vais mettre quelques exemples un peu plus loin dans ce post, vous me direz ce que vous pensez de son évolution artistique.

On the corner of the streets Aylwin and Ontario in Montreal's Hochelaga Maisonneuve district. The collaboration between Labrona and MosGeez isn't far away in the alley north of Ontario Street. It was another bike ride to work that allowed me to make these discoveries. I can't wait for the warmer weather to return and get back on my bike.
Au coin de la rue Aylwin et de la rue Ontario dans le quartier de Hochelaga Maisonneuve à Montréal. La collaboration de Labrona et MosGeez se trouve pas très loin dans la ruelle au nord de la rue Ontario. C'est encore un trajet au travail en vélo qui m'a permis de faire ces découvertes. Vivement le retour des beaux jours pour reprendre mon vélo.

Deps is an artist and tattoo artist at Orange Sanguine in Blainville (not far from Montreal). He created this mural in 2017 with the help of Café Graffiti, an association founded in 1997 on rue Sainte Catherine to help young graffiti artists practice their art legally. A great initiative...
Deps est un artiste et tatoueur chez Orange Sanguine à Blainville (pas très loin de Montréal). Il a réalisé cette murale en 2017 avec l'aide de Café Graffiti, une association créée en 1997 sur la rue Sainte Catherine pour aider les jeunes graffiteurs à pratiquer leur art en toute légalité. Très belle initiative...
As I said in the introduction, Deps's style has evolved since then, although he still likes to paint fairly realistic portraits. On this mural, however, we're a long way from his current, slightly darker themes. here children at play, a little more innocent. It's cool that despite more than 7 years since it was painted, it's not been tagged, only the colors have faded.
Comme je le disais en introduction, le style de Deps a bien évolué depuis bien qu'il aime toujours peindre des portraits assez réalistes. Sur cette murale, nous sommes par contre loin de ses thèmes actuels, un peu plus sombres. Ici des enfants entrain de jouer, un peu plus innocent. C'est cool que malgré plus de 7 ans après sa réalisation, l'oeuvre n'est pas tagguée, seulement les couleurs se sont délavées.

Labrona & Mozgeez
A little further on in the same Hochelaga Maisonneuve district, we find a collaboration by Labrona with its uniquely styled characters surrounding an octopus-head by MosGeez, two Montreal artists who have been a little less present on the streets lately.
Un peu plus loin dans le même quartier d'Hochelaga Maisonneuve, on retrouve une collaboration de Labrona avec ses personnages au style unique entourant une tête-pieuvre de MosGeez, deux artistes de Montréal, un peu moins présents dans les rues depuis quelques temps.
Cool to find this work in good condition, only a little paint has peeled off over time. / FR : Cool de trouver cette oeuvre en bon état, seul un peu de peinture s'est décollé avec le temps.
