The creation of Adam

in StreetArt2 years ago

Here is another great mural that I have come across in the last couple of weeks. This one is also located just off Clarendon street in South Melbourne, Australia, about a 5 minute walk from the Matrix one that I posted last week.

It's clearly a take on the classic Michaelangelo painting "The creation of Adam" but with the two figures separated and the hashtag #physicaldistancing between them. A very poignant message in the era of covid.

The artists tags in the bottom corner reads for melbournesmurals.com.au Though I don't know specifically who painted this particular piece.

I have been fortunate enough to travel to the Sistine chapel in the past and see the original that this is taken from. And while the setting and surrounding grandeur all add to the experience of awe when you see the original work, a little bit of that same magic is missing here. None the less this is still a great piece that made me stop and notice as I walked by so 10/10 for attention grabbing and getting the message across.

Until next time,
Enjoy :)
