Forgotten faces of the coal

in StreetArt11 months ago

ferropolis.jpg
Three old, life-scarred faces, men who used to work in a lignite open-pit mine. Today, a huge picture on a former workshop is reminiscent of the long-gone days of coal.

The opencast mine has been closed for more than 30 years, and the wounds in the earth have become lakes. Three excavators are still standing, they surround an open-air arena called Ferropolis, very close to Wittenberg, Martin Luther's city.

Beautiful tribute to these "behind-the-scenes" workers... Thanks for sharing this pic on The StreetArt Community.
