During the last months, there have been painted in Antofagasta (Chile) some murals with ecological and indigenist thematic. Today I share six photos of one of these murals, which has been painted recently and I find it quite interesting. As you can see the focus of the painting is the portrait of a indigenous girl, at the sea coast, where there are fishing canoes. At the right there is a whale under the ocean. Notice all the details of the cetaceous that the artist painted, he/she was very realistic, (during summer the whales visit the coast of this area). At the left some petroglyphs are painted and located at the coast.
En los últimos meses han aparecido en la ciudad de Antofagasta, varios murales de corte indigenista y ecológicos. Hoy muestro seis fotografías de uno ellos, que es bastante reciente y considero que es bastante interesante. Como pueden ver tiene el retrato de una indígena, en la costa, donde hay varias barcas pesqueras, a la derecha del mural se ve una ballena representada en su medio, es decir debajo de las aguas del océano (En verano las ballenas pasan por estas costas). Noten todos los detalles que tiene el cetáceo, claramente el artista quiso ser bastante realista al respecto. A la izquierda del mural están representadas una piedras en petroglifos, a orillas del mar.
In these photos we can see many details of the mural, and at the same time the surroundings where it is located. This painting covers a large wall with an important slope. The city of Antofagasta is quite hilly, since it is where the mountains meet the sea. The mural is next to the sea, although this fact is not seen in the images.
