Eagle Rare is some good stuff. I have a bottle on my shelf at home. It is almost gone though. It is pretty hard to find it. I think down south they started putting into the lottery system. That's the good thing about Michigan, the prices are pretty fixed. For the most part anyway. I was able to get my bottle for $28 or so which is what it should really sell for. That's part of what made it so great. It was an awesome bourbon for a decent price. Now people are just nuts. I love that we can still get Buffalo Trace at Costco for $25 or so. There are tons of people who can't find it anywhere for a decent price. I'm going to miss my bottle of Eagle Rare when it is gone. I don't think I'd pay more than $40 for a bottle though. Same thing with Blanton's. If I can get it for $60 ro so then cool, more than that, not worth it!
All of the Buffalo Trace is still hard to find in my area, but I do like that there is plenty of it at MSRP. I just finished a bottle of Blanton's which I saw people seeing for $300! I think my bourbon collection could be considered an investment at this point. I'm a lot like you I want MSRP it's part of the fun and satisfaction of the hunt.
Haha, I hear you. I have two unopened bottles of Blanton's that I paid right around $65 a piece for. The smaller stores don't seem to have Buffalo Trace but the Costco just down the road always has a stock it seems. My collection is definitely an investment. Probably close to $1000 if not more in bottles right now.
Your collection is probably about the same size as mine then. We don't have a Costco Membership, but my wife and I were talking about getting one yesterday! Their kirkland branded stuff is all really good.
Yeah, I have a couple bottles of the small batch. I like it better than the bonded stuff they released. There was one more flavor in their special run that I never got to try. We just live a couple miles from the store, it's straight down the road so it made sense to get a membership. Midland Brewing company started making their own bourbon. It is pretty fair.
I need to try to find those. I have also had several local breweries distilled spirts. Some of them should stick with beer lol.
I can't argue with you there! 😃
