With the update on the rules for Moon next Universe, I think it was time to just call it quits playing the game. I'm currently top 7 thanks to the daily grind and the support from my fellow players. I was looking forward to Uni2 but the recent updates was enough to convince me the game isn't worth the time anymore.
I think I've grinded enough to levels on tech as far as free to play is concerned and still fall short whenever someone has more than >100% bonus in tech advantage. This makes your best units in the game not do shit to the enemy's weakest fodder. Doesn't matter if you spent some considerable time planning, grinding the levels to just survive multiple attacks or attackers, none of these really matter if escaping is the only route to stay afloat.
Paid advantages just diminish skill and I get the point that somehow the game has to find use for the Pizza token but it's just pay to win especially when all bonuses just snowball from early to late game. Do I have something against players that pay for advantages? no, that's what the system allows. What I do have beef with is how paid advantages just ruins gameplay in scenarios where yeah you could've one but someone else paid in advance. It's back to hard work not paying off and even worse if the enemy is also a hard worker that pays.
Now the rules just says multi-accounting is allowed. I already know that some already do multi-accounting prior but no one gets banned or calls out the act anyway. Having a open notice that it's ok already invites unfair advantage for people that plays with just 1 account.
If you allow bots (which I doubt anyone could stop if at the current state of the game), on top of the paid advantage and multiaccounting, don't ask why the game just isn't fun to play anymore. I could deal with enemies having multi accounts like taking on an entire alliance but bots and paid advantages? nah, this is assuming Universe 2 has all those components present in the game.
Would my mind change if I had those same advantage? I mean I could pay for them but it just fuels the problem and perpetuates the cycle of joining them if you can't beat them. That's probably the most boring route to go forward.
I'll keep playing Universe one but as soon as Uni 2 comes out, I'm just done. I still love the game but lately it's just difficult to find any meaningful growth beyond the pay wall.

Understand your frustrations but I don't think they can have a lean dev team and micro manage the player base.

That's certainly true, especially when there are monetary incentives to win at the game. I just don't think the above conditions are fun for gameplay and if I don't multiaccount, I'm going to be at a remarkable disadvantage on those that do and doing so means adding more precious time into the game to stay competitive. Granted there's no way of stopping multiaccounting even if you tell people not to, or use bots and etc at the current conditions.
I think the most pragmatic way to deal with this is joining a strong alliance.
5 people playing 1 account each is more competitive than 1 person playing 5 accounts.
Also 1 person playing 5 accounts is way more likely to get burnt out.
