I led Abby and the others up a climb and through a heavy gate, only to find ourselves surrounded by more Scars. A failed stealth attempt triggered a brutal firefight that was ended by WLF reinforcements. During our escape by truck, we discovered Mel was injured while she was treating another wounded soldier.
After I took care of all the Scars on the railway track, I found a way that I had to climb up. I reached the top first and then asked the others to follow me up.
There was this wooden gate that we had to open up together. I could feel there were more threats on the other side when Abby was going through to the next section.
Right after getting there, all of them took cover because there was a group of Scars looking for them. I noticed we were surrounded on every side, leaving no opening for a stealthy approach.
I threw a bottle at a far hill to distract them and tried to walk inside the store by my side, but the Scars detected me. A heavy battle started immediately as we were exposed.
A fierce fight broke out with the three of us against a whole lot of Scars. Our dog was doing a lot of damage to them, tackling enemies while we provided cover fire.
Suddenly, a group from the WLF camp nearby came to save us. They took down all the remaining Scars while a few lucky ones managed to escape to survive.
After checking around for any good loot, I went towards the truck. Mel found someone who had been shot in the hand and she immediately started treating his wound.
The trucks left the place immediately as they didn't want to face any more consequences there. We were heading towards the main WLF camp at high speed to get to safety.
On the way, while Mel was doing primary treatment on the injured man, Abby suddenly noticed Mel had been stabbed in her back. They stopped elsewhere to send her to the medical team.

Opening that heavy wooden gate felt like walking right into a trap. You could just tell something was waiting for them on the other side. That dog is a total lifesaver.

I was relieved when the WLF reinforcements arrived. Being surrounded by Scars in such an open area is usually a recipe for disaster. I'm glad they showed up in time.
Yeah, their arrival really changed the situation. Otherwise, it definitely could have gone the other way.

Yeah, once stealth failed, it got messy quickly.
Mel being stabbed while helping another wounded soldier was shocking and heartbreaking. It showed how unpredictable the situation is, even when someone is trying to save a life.😓
The unpredictability added a heavy weight to it.
Your strategy with the bottle distraction was a great idea, it showed good tactical thinking. Did you realize Mel was injured before Abby pointed it out, or was it a complete surprise to you as well?
