The Battle for the Northern Way.

▶️ Watch on 3Speak

I started the Battle for the Northern Way to rescue my crew. After scouting with my raven, I broke into a building where Eivor found his father's axe and challenged a torturer. After winning the fight, Eivor had a strange vision of a wolf and a mysterious man in a red world.

The mission to rescue my crew was called the Battle for the Northern Way. I had to travel across the snowy landscape to reach the enemy camp and get into position for the raid.

After getting close, I called my raven to scout the area. I understood my crew was being tortured inside a large building, so I climbed onto the roof to find a silent way inside.

Once inside the building, I saw an enemy guard torturing one of my men. Eivor moved through the shadows toward cover, trying to stay quiet while assessing the room.

Suddenly, Eivor noticed his father's axe sitting on a table. This triggered a deep anger in him; he stepped out from cover and challenged the enemy to a direct fight.

The enemy swung a heavy axe at me. Since this felt like a combat tutorial, I focused on mastering my dodges and timing to stay out of his reach while learning his patterns.

I attacked whenever he got tired from swinging his heavy weapon. Midway through, he threw his axe away and pulled out two hammers to change his style, but I kept dodging his strikes.

When I drained the full health of the enemy, Eivor took his hammers and hit the enemy's head with the twin hammers as a last critical hit.

The fight ended more easily than I expected. When it was over, Eivor picked up his father's axe and was suddenly pulled into a powerful hallucination that blurred his reality.

He saw a mysterious figure and a large wolf standing right in front of him. It seemed like they were taunting him, trying to get him to follow them deeper into the vision.

I used photo mode to get a closer look at the figure's face, but I didn't recognize who it was. After exiting the building, both Eivor and I were surprised by the haunting, blood-red atmosphere of the world around us.

That's all for now.

That finisher with the twin hammers looked absolutely brutal. Using photo mode to study the mysterious figure in the red world was a great idea. The game does such a good job with these hallucinations.

Haha yeah, that finisher was not exactly gentle.
The game really handles those surreal scenes well.

The duel with the torturer felt intense when he switched from an axe to twin hammers. That fight showed a sample of how brutal the combat in this game can be.

Yes, that weapon switch really ramps up the intensity of the fight.

Your tactical approach to the boss fight was excellent. Focusing on learning the dodge patterns and attacking during the enemy's recovery windows shows you have a great handle on the combat flow already.

Appreciate the comment. Learning the patterns definitely made the fight easy.

The strange vision with the giant wolf and the mysterious man in the red world was amazing. It added a sense of mystery to your journey and made me curious about it.

Yeah, it's one of those moments that makes you stop and think.

I like how you balanced the gameplay with the narrative weight of the mission. It is a relief that you finally found that axe.

Thanks, I'm glad the balance between story and gameplay came through.
