More than a game - Ghost of Yotei's unforgettable early captures

GhostofYotei

Greetings community, it's awesome to find this particular focus here on Hive where we can give value to those screenshots from our video games that we loved so much. Precisely a game that provides marvelous captures is Ghost of Yotei. I'm currently playing it, and every time I do, I'm filled with new images, because its landscapes and scenes are quite epic.

I want to share with you some of the first images I captured. The first impact you get when you start playing is the game's landscapes. You can notice a significant improvement over the previous Ghost of Tsushima. Atsu, the game's protagonist, returns to her former home: Ezo in northern Japan, a small farm that was once her house, located at the foot of Mount Yotei, a dormant volcano that the locals deeply respect.

It was inevitable for Atsu, upon arriving at her old home—which she left after the tragedy 16 years ago—to begin having flashbacks of the last days of her childhood in that place. The old Ginkgo tree still stands and begins to blossom. At the foot of this tree, she and her mother used to play the shamisen, an instrument that now becomes a part of Atsu’s adventure going forward. I love how the flashback images have a slightly lighter hue to precisely give the sensation of a past memory.

The flashbacks don't stop. You approach the old forge and see her father working on a new katana. Atsu is filled with curiosity and asks to help her father, and this is how you learn to forge the weapons you will use later. Her father lets them see this new katana up close; it has the figure of a wolf engraved on it, the symbol of their family.

You learn that it's not yet time to wield it; practice is necessary to become capable of swinging a weapon of this type. Flashbacks of her training with her brother, Jubei, appear—how to block at the precise moment and attack when the opponent's guard is broken—combat mechanics that become integral to the entire game.

The image of them together as a family seems to overwhelm Atsu, and she returns to the present. She manages to see the battered tomb of her parents, which she raises and reverences, placing at their feet the sword her father once forged for her, which she now wields with the promise of bringing vengeance and honor to her family.

A figure appears in the fog it's a she-wolf that approaches cautiously. This reminds her of her family's symbol, the importance of looking out for and protecting each other like a pack. This marks the beginning of her revenge and search for the Six of Yotei.

I hope you liked these images, which belong to the game's prologue. Soon I'll share more of the beautiful landscapes this marvelous game offers, its characters, combat, and interesting finds I've come across during my hours of play—which I haven't finished yet, by the way, but I'll surely bring you updates as I progress.

Seriously, Ghost of Yotei shows that they've raised the bar enormously over Tsushima. The Mount Yotei setting looks incredibly epic. If it makes me sit and stare at the landscape 😁 instead of fighting in that space, it's a huge design achievement. That's next-gen visual upgrade.

It's true, it's an interesting mix of scenic beauty with deadly combat
