I engaged a Scorcher and a Longleg near a machine lure site, defeated both with targeted strikes and picked up a heavy mine launcher. After overriding the transmitter and discovering a Zenith log, I glided down past a scenic waterfall and scaled the southern cliffs toward the next lure.
I initiated my attack on the Scorcher using a Valor Surge, focusing all my fire directly on its critical components to tear away its most dangerous weapon systems.
The machine fought back aggressively with sudden bursts of fire, forcing me off my elevated ledge, but I maintained continuous pressure from the ground and quickly detached its main cannon.
The Scorcher collapsed shortly after. Then the Longleg immediately stepped in to take its place, forcing me to quickly shift my focus. I dodged its wide sonic sweeps, kept a safe distance, and shot down its armor until it finally crashed onto the dirt.
With both dangerous machines cleared from the immediate area, I took a moment to look around and noticed that the Scorcher had dropped a heavy mine launcher during the intense chaos of our fight.
I picked up the weapon to inspect it, realizing that using it earlier would have made quick work of the Longleg.
Leaving the heavy weapon behind, I stepped up to the nearby machine lure console and initiated the override sequence. Accessing the device revealed a recorded audio log referencing someone named Julius and a specific Zenith protocol designed to exterminate local pests.
The log confirmed that the device was intentionally drawing aggressive machines directly to this location, so shutting it down permanently cleared the immediate perimeter and stopped any further attacks.
According to the recovered data, another active lure signal was emitting from the high cliffs located just south of the massive Horus titan.
Deploying my glider, I drifted smoothly down through the mist toward the base of the falls to land safely on the lower dirt path.
Once my feet hit the ground, I activated my focus to highlight the subtle handholds carved into the steep rock wall ahead. As soon as I pinpointed the clearest climbing route, I began climbing up the cliff, toward the higher ground where the second signal source was located.
As I reached the top of the upper ridge, Aloy noted that several more deadly machines were actively patrolling the ground surrounding the Horus ruins.
She suggested that picking up an energy cell directly from the titan while flying overhead could help disable the remaining guard machines in a single stroke.

That glide down past the waterfall was such a perfect change of pace after the intense combat. Horizon knows when to slow things down with an amazing view.

I liked how you cleared the machine lure before moving forward. Stopping more machines from coming into the area was a smart choice before continuing the journey.
