I fought through a tough encounter with Hiss Clusters and floating soldiers to reach the elevator leading to Marshall. After a brief intercom chat and a surprise ambush, I made my way to the Research sector. I finally located Marshall, who requested my help to secure the HRA production lab from the Hiss.
I got so close to finding Marshall, but the final stage was packed with Hiss soldiers and a healing Hiss Cluster. I knew the fight would be impossible if I didn't destroy those clusters first, so I made them my primary target.
I actually died once because I lost my focus and let the enemies overwhelm me. On my second attempt, I successfully wiped out the clusters immediately and then systematically took care of the Hiss soldiers.
Just as I thought the room was secure, several Hiss soldiers started floating around with chairs. I took them down quickly and cleansed the nearby control panel to stabilize the area.
I reached the intercom next to the elevator to speak with Marshall. We had a brief conversation where Jesse made it clear they needed to talk face-to-face about the situation in the Oldest House.
Right as I was about to step into the elevator, a group of Hiss "demons" ambushed me. I was surprised by the sudden reinforcements, but I kept my distance and exploded them with my service weapon before they could get close.
I took a moment to explore Central Research, checking for any hidden documents or resources. Once I was satisfied, I finally entered the elevator to reach the level where Marshall was hiding.
After the elevator ride, a Ranger informed me that Marshall was waiting in the lab just down the hall. The first thing I did was claim the local Control Point to ensure I had a safe place to respawn and upgrade.
I walked toward the Luck and Probability Chamber to find Marshall. Along the way, I passed several heavily armed Rangers who were holding the line, and I finally found Marshall herself overseeing the operations.
Marshall explained that Darling created the HRAs in a nearby lab and that they desperately needed more to survive the Hiss attack. Since her Rangers couldn't secure the lab alone, Jesse volunteered to be the firepower needed to clear out the corruption.

Volunteering to clear out the Hiss corruption in the lab proves that Jesse is stepping into her role as Director quite naturally. The Rangers holding the line made the situation like a war zone.
